First kill European Wild Boar

I have been wanting to hunt something with my recurve for a while now and this week I got a call asking if I wanted to come hunt European Boar on a farm not far from my house. So I jumped at the opportunity to cut my Trad teeth on a nice boar. I shot a nice Boar and a Sow.
The Boar i shot W&S at 18m broadside and the sow also W&S at 20m quartering away. Boar run 20m and went down with a double lung shot and sow seem to be a lot tougher going about 100m before going down. It was great fun hunting with my recurve, I am looking forward to shooting more South African Species. Hope to share a success story soon with you guys, when I go hunt again with my recurve.

 

Setup:Bow- Hoyt Buffalo 55# recurve
         Arrows- Easton Axis 340 weight-540gn
         Board heads- Simmons Land Sharks 165gn
         Camera Mounting system on bow- Bowfinger 2.0
