the big carry out, 100 lbs or more each

By the time we got the goat caped and deboned it was around 6-6:30 PM, I did not feel much like staying on the mountain covered in goat blood and stinking of goat with the two grizzly's we saw earlier in the day, so off we marched.  Tthe trip going down was and is many times worse than going up.  we got back to the truck still in twilight, approaching about 10:30 pm.

Yup , he carried my bow and bag off my frame and I hauled the cape, head, meat and my small day pack. I figure we each had close to 100lbs  as we packed for a multi day trip and ended up killing his billy the first day up. ............ That is the first day of the second mountain.  The last 45 minutes of our decent was just one big controlled fall!!!!!!!.

I'm off To chase Elk with the bow day after tomorrow but when I get back I'm going right back up after that other big billy in the picture. I just hope he's still hanging in the same area and that the grizzlies have moved down out of the area.

One thing I learnt about goat hunting is, take several knives 3-4.  goat skin is thick 1/2 inch in some places, their coats are full of scree shale dust, peebles and rocks.  I had two knives and they are both so beaten up, they are garbage.  at the end of cleaning I was just hacking, either knife would cut.  I'm not complaining though two knives in the garbage was worth it.
