Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. Here's a couple more pics of him.
These were taken about 30 minutes before I saw him. I've had that camera out all summer long and all I ever got was the same few does and fawns every time, so to say the least I was very surprised when I saw him headed my way.
