American Longbow brace height
« on: March 14, 2008, 12:21:00 PM »
Hello to all,

Mr Schultz made a bow for me 13 years ago or so. I have since lost the info and note he wrote to me when he sent it (doh!).

Could someone give me the brace height range for a 64" 'The Grandpa' bamboo bow?

thanks,

Cary

I would guess around 6&1/4" to 6&3/4" for a straight limbed longbow.I brace my Hill's at 6&1/2".

Cary--For the no glass all bamboo follow the string longbows, the brace height for the 64" bow is 5 and 1/4 to 5 and 3/8. Not much leeway is there? This is from the 'instruction sheet' that he sent along with the bows. Over the phone he also told me to not go over 5 and 5/8" or it will drastically reduce bow performance.---I have 3 of them. Two 'Grandpa's' and a 'Tonkin'.  Lp
