First in a while/ pictures added
« on: September 10, 2013, 06:14:00 AM »
Here's my first deer with traditional equipment in over 15 years. It sure feels good. Deer came in pretty early, white oaks have started to drop a few green acorns and the deer are on they. Got in the stand at about 4:30 and she came and was shot at 5:28.  At about 7 yards and me about 20 up the angle was to steep to shoot off my side, had to shoot facing her with limbs between my legs.  Arrow entered under the spine, brushing the spine and exited about heart zone opposite side. Hit liver and lungs, missed the heart. Went about 60 yards and fell over.
Shot her with a 62" A&H, 45@27"
550 grn. Arrow. 190 grn meathead with 100 grn.steel screw in adaptor. Carbon express maxima hunter 250. Cut to draw length plus an inch. Would post pic. But this forum seems overly complex to post pictures. Maybe i'am just picture illeterate?
thanks Patrick for posting the pictures.
