Hog Stalken weekend.....
« on: July 20, 2015, 03:06:00 AM »
Went on a camping/hunting trip over the weekend it was hot and the fire ants were bad but it was fun as always. Went for a several mile hike on the top side of my hunting buddy's ranch and found a few pigs to put a stalk on. Was able to get a good shot on this sow while she nosed around....

After getting her cleaned and put in the shade I moved down toward a small spring and sure enough about 15 pigs were all around it drinking and rooting around. I snuck into about 15yds of a small boar and got a good quartering away shot into him..

We ate good over the weekend cause this was our first day so now we had plenty of pork...

Saw lots more pigs and all kinds of other critters but no more shots. Caught lots of fish and cooled off down in the river , also the next day I found a broke arrowhead about 10yds from where my second pig fell over at the spring...

So much for adherence to the heat warnings that tell you stay in out of the hot weather! Sounds like a really great weekend.

Great job on the hogs.  I managed to get winded by a nice boar Saturday night.  Sweat pouring off of me.  Not alot of fun this time of the year.
