Winter is long leaving up here.
« on: March 17, 2008, 05:40:00 PM »
Was out on the snowshoes the other day with my new Howard Hill badger, a back quiver I traded Bob Walker for and my zeiss glasses.

I noticed some tracks as I was walking into the bush can you tell what they are??

I stopped and took a few pics of my new toys : )

The badger is all black, Gaboon ebony riser, black glass and is 60 #'s at my draw. Going to be a good turkey bow from my blind this spring!

I really like the deep narrow core limbs of the Hill bows. I like it so much, I'm going to order a Big 5 66" same riser, same glass, same weight and exact same grip.
I'll have it in May!

As I got further into the hemlocks, I came across a flock of these fellows( and ladies) numbering at least 75, maybe 100 or more   :)     :)   I hid behind a big hemlock and mouth- yelped 5 of the big boys over to about 15 yards...Couldn't get a pic though, as soon as they saw the silver of my camera; they ran.   :)

If I look a little tired out, it was after 45 minutes of snowshoeing and busting brush and being so damned SICK of this winter   :(

There is at least 3 feet of snow still in the bush and turkey season opens in about a month!   :(

I have to admit though; being out makes it better for a bit.   :)

Anybody else had enough of this winter?

Redbuds are blooming and herons are on the nests. I saw butterflies out and every bird is singing, "MINE!!"

Delivered the mail in a T-shirt.  :archer:    :jumper:    :)    :p

Big Dog, I know what you mean. I think we might have a bit more snow here, and YES I am very sick of it. I don't think it will be gone until July, if were lucky lol.

The other day somebody said they couldn't wait for the first black fly bite lol.

Same here Cary, though I think we "only" have a couple feet left.  A half hour south there are fields that are bare....go figure...

This winter is dragging on forever.  Only about a foot and a half of snow up here in Thunder Bay, but cold.  Jonathan

We had a few light showers today. Hopefully the cold weather and snow will be gone soon, I’ve been itching to get out looking for sheds and do some scouting.

Yeah its around 50 here no snow on the ground. But with the way Indiana's weather is that doesn't mean that spring is here yet.

Big Dog great pics! Thanks for sharing. Looks like you have a few birds in your woods. Your bow is my kinda bow. I like that riser and black glass combo. I never realized there was a hybrid in the Howard Hill line. Thought they only had Traditional D style longbows.
