I finally got a chance on a good buck with my longbow, and made good on it.

After dropping off my friend Jim Dussias at a stand, i ran up to a little funnel in a hollar here in northwest NC. This guy came by about 840, and i made a great shot on the walking buck at about 15-17yds. He made it about 80-100yds after the hit and i absolutley could not be happier with him. In the pics the entry looks high and back but he was quartering away and the exit was right behind th opposite shoulder. The arrow never slowed down as it slid through the bug bodied buck.

Equipment notes: #42Omega Imperial, Gold Tip Pink Nugents 500s, Tusker single bevel Concordes.

This stickbow stuff is so much fun.

That's a real nice one for North Carolina! Funny story: I did my residency out there and was invited hunting with some friends near Greensboro. I took my bow of course and I ended up passing on a full grown doe thinking it was a fawn LOL...30 seconds later the real fawn came through, no spots or anything just this years immature fawn! I about fell out of my stand and my buddies laughed pretty good.
You should be as proud of that buck as any midwest P&Y buck.
