I Won a Bow @ TTAS (pics)
« on: March 17, 2008, 08:23:00 PM »
What a Week-end!!!! Dad and I, Mason and Jimmy (NoCams) attended the 1st Tennessee Traditional Archery Society Banquet this week-end...We got to meet and spend a lot of time with Mr. Ron Laclair, build strings with Chad Weaver, build bows with Pappy, Tree stand safety, Wilderness First Aid, Back country camping, Feather-splicing, and Cane Arrow building. I was forunate to be the Winner of a BEAUTIFUL "Red-Tail" long bow, built by Ethan Rodrigue'....It's "1 of a kind" built from West Tennessee Sycamore for the limbs and Rosewood riser...Some of you know that I'm a Lefty, so after a short discussion with Ethan, we donated it back to the TTAS, to be given away again. Ethan is gonna build me a CUSTOM Lefty. I am truely grateful for this gift and it will be put to good use. The past 2 years of traditional archery and TRAD GANG have been great and I've met many great friends and hope to meet many more...WHAT A WEEK-END!

Skyler, thanks for the kind words.  I really enjoyed meeting you and your dad.  Me and my buddy Mike will usually make a few bows to donate.  It's always rewarding, but whenever a fine young man (or young woman) like yourself wind up with it, it makes it that much better.  I'll try to get you your bow in time to make some shoots with it and practice up for those Wyoming Antelope!!!  Just don't forget to hold up your end of the bargain, I love to see hero pics!!!

Congratulations. I believe that arrow is from the same dozen special arrows that got shipped express mail up to Ron while we were in Shrew Haven Lodge camp last year.  One of them killed a huge doe a few nights later.

Good mojo in them arrows (other than the deer ran away from the two track instead of towards it   ).
