« on: March 30, 2018, 11:27:57 AM »
Rob several people have contacted me and posted about staying logged in forever and not being able to come back to tradgang without having to login no matter what so could you please post an answer maybe to help some of these people if it's not their browser is there anything else they can do on tradgang to alleviate having to login every time?

I emailed Rob.
I believe this has to do with using www in the url.
I am having the same issue after we went live.

In today's world.
www.tradgang.com/tgsmf/
Is a little different than
tradgang.com/tgsmf.
try the latter
tradgang.com/tgsmf
login and close browser don't logout then use
tradgang.com/tgsmf again.
Make sure your browser does not try to remember what you type and add the www again.

Rob and Terry will need to make a final decision on what format they want for default to use to fix it.

I edited this post for stupid typos I made.

Easy peasy.
Log on to the site. Once you are in and on the index page, bookmark that page and add to your favorites (get rid of your old bookmark first). Subsequent logins will take you right in.

So what url are you using for your bookmark?

Betting on tradgang.com/tgsmf/index.php
Not

Yep. That's it. Works fine for me with Firefox as a browser.
Some users might have to clear their browser history.

You did not quite answer my question.

what is your bookmark url?
We need to fix this for everyone else.
It has nothing to do with firefox or browser cache at this point.
I use firefox myself.
It has to to do with redirects.
So that is why I am asking you.

well my default is to the homepage or now called the main forums I don't default to the powwow cuz I got too much other stuff to do on the site to check before I get to play on the playground of the pow wow.... so my bookmark is for the main forums but that's really irrelevant logging in as logging in it should be able to stick once you put it in the stay logged in Forever

The  repetitive login issue was how you get to the site. Some were www.tradgang.com and some were tradgang.com.
Everything is now www.tradgang.com now.
So some of you may need to either login again or create another bookmark to stay logged in.
This should be fixed now.

For me, www.tradgang.com is a bridge to nowhere. This is all getting a bit confusing. Growing pains and bugs that need to get worked out? YES -- Worth it? YES -------- Keep at it Rob and Terry. We are cheering for you, but us non-tech guys can't offer help or even suggestions.

Bottom line question is did that resolve your login issue?
Using www.tradgang.com for login.

yes the old bookmarks will not work the old bookmarks will not work because that goes nowhere I'm not sure why Joe has a bridge to nowhere but we'll figure that out and the funny thing is I just know how to login again even though it said forever but it may be because I cut my phone off earlier and had to reboot my phone so maybe that's why but I didn't have to until then

just deleted my old bookmark, then saved the new site to my favorites, closed out of my internet browser, then opened it back up, and presto!!! I was still logged in.  Will see what happens when I open back up tomorrow.
