Sorting messages

Is there a way to sort private messages in order by date?
Mine are just scattered in a list by random dates making it hard to find a recent message.
When I click on "Date" it just moves them around but not in order.

yes and no.  we just found out about this issue recently.

yes, it will sort by date as long as the PMs are current and were created within this new forum.

no, it will generally not sort by date if some number of PMs came over from the old site.

Yes.

First thing you might want to do is delete most of the old messages. There could be several 100 that were brought over in the conversion.

Click my messages.

Then click actions.

Then click prune messages.

I saved the past 14 days.

After you prune them, they organize a lot better.

Then in the list of your messages on the top left corner click on date with the arrow to arrange them..

hah!  hey roy!

to the OP - PMs are actually categorized by a numbering system that's based on their created date.  this is where the numbers from the old forum conflict with the new numbers from this new system.  as roy posted, if you can prune out the old system messages, any new ones created in this new system will sort in either up or down order.
