Old bow big price
« on: April 17, 2018, 10:35:56 AM »
Some old bows are still bringing a good price I just seen a 59 Kodiak left hand sell for $967. on the big auction site. Maybe because it was a lefty or someone got in a bidding war but I thought that was an awful lot . Your thoughts ?

Somebody spent too much money is my opinion.  :saywhat:
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

Crazy.  Maybe, like me, the bidder was born in 1959 and badly wanted one.

I see bow-unrelated items sell used on ebaY for more that a still available new item would.

Foolishness.

Hopefully it wasn't made in 2017 in China.

I remember when my friends and I could pick up old bows for $25-$50 at yard sales--we bought and sold literally hundreds.  Then traditional archery got more popular, prices went up.  Then old bows became "vintage" bows and prices went up again.  Meanwhile there were some new bows introduced that would accept any string you want to use, plus they come with a warranty...and the prices were cheaper than a lot of the old ("vintage") bows!  I all but quit trading on old bows after that.  Love the history and nostalgia, but I won't dump common sense over it.

Some people have more money than they know what to do with.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

Could be that a guy saw what he wanted, had "his earned money" and decided to pay the price for it.  His business... not mine.  Good for him.  All I can say for the seller and the buyer is, God Bless America!
