Man, that had to be exciting. Glad you had time to take a pic. Is this your first sighting in that area?

It was the first in the area. In fact I saw that animal this afternoon as well. Seen at least one moose every day since we’ve been in the Laramie-Walden area. Been a while since I’ve seen any, probably 20yrs when I was in Maine last. Moose hunting has been a major dream of mine for a long time.

No surprise. That's the area where moose were first reintroduced back in the 80's. It's been a very successful program. That's some wonderful country you are visiting. Give the fishing a go!

Elk hunted that area a while back. Never saw a moose but plenty of sign... Cool sighting!

Yep....I was with Charlie on that elk hunt......saw plenty of sign but never saw a Moose. It is a real nice part of the world.

What’s kinda interesting is that a few months ago I was contemplating an elk hunting trip to this area. Went as far as to identify a a Forrest Service cabin that’s right on the edge of the woods. Then I’m here for work and as I turn down the road to location I see a sign identifying the cabin by name is just 10 miles away! Unfortunately can’t go this year or most likely next either. But I’m gonna try to come here or just across the border in Wyoming some time soon.
Moose are about the only big game we don’t have in Oklahoma.
