Vermont Turkey

Thursday evening I put a Tom to roost that I have been working on since the season started. He had been giving me trouble and wouldn’t come to calls after fly down. Friday morning I snuck in as close as I dared in the pitch dark. No flashlight and tried to be as quiet as possible. He gobbled once from the roost and I was worried that I was almost too close to him. I didn’t dare call at all. Just after 5 am he pitched out of the tree and landed right in the decoys! I made a good shot and my landshark hit right on the money. He only made it about 30 yards. I checked my watch and it was 5:04.
My biggest VT bird: 22.5 lbs. Inch 1/4 spurs. 8 inch beard.

Nice, congrats.
You posted a thumbnail picture, which is fine.
After you select your picture from your PC or phone, just to the right of the little window where the picture name appears, click ( Insert Attachment 1 ). That will make the picture full size in your post.

Julian,
Joey and I didn’t go. I ended up using my airline ticket to go to Wyoming and hang out with my buddy for 5 days. We elk scouted and deer scouted a new ranch. I bought a turkey tag and was lucky to get this bird the second morning
