I did one a few years back.  Turned out well but I have to admit Id rather shoot them than make them.

Yep, but you can't make just one. By the time you get it done you are planning #2 and 3.... :)
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Go to Kenny's web site and study his stuff and then pop over to the Bowyer's Bench and ask a few questions to get started.  Lot's of resources and helpful people there.

Been making mine for over 20 plus years. Hugely rewarding for me to hunt with my own equipment.

ok Kenny you twisted my arm!!! :goldtooth:

Just retired this bow after 22 years...osage ebony with checkered grip and ivory scrimshaw. Spent more time on checkering and scrimshawing than i did making the bow.. Heavy Robertson influence.!!

Hog picture is a young me 96'?  Love how osage turns! Bow was months old in this picture

This is my current bow.  short 62" bamboo limbs...shedua and osage with again my herring bone inlay. I have change this bow up greatly from a 1.75" riser/limb to now a 1.5" riser limb...love the skinny riser and limbs. i just ran the whole bow under my Performac 16-32 drum sander.!!!!! I encourage anyone to give this great hobby a try.  so rewarding.

Then i have HUGE a perssimon boards i cut up from a tree from property for riser. I figured you have done this several times.. Any advice on Bamboo or go with persimmon lams?

I've cut some boo into lams for glass bows, the trouble I had was by the time you have both sides flat you have used up most of your boo.  One lam per section is all I could get and then had probs getting anything very thick.  Persimmon should be good, it is very hard as I understand, but I've never used it in a bow.

Not a one piece but I've made quite a few takedowns. Bow building is a very addictive hobby. I'm always thinking of ways to make the next one.
