I wasn't sure where to post this but here goes, I have been making everything I can for my bow hunting and just having a full knee replacement decided I needed another project to keep my idle fingers working whilst I hoble around. so I set to work on my quiver, drew out a pattern cut the leather then started with my pattern for the oak leaves, I have never tried working with leather except doing a couple of basic knife sheathes for the knives i make.

I stitched a couple of panels I can slot a stainless rod in to keep the shape.

nearly finished then to edge kote and stain, regards wayne.

Looks really nice. Is that machine stitched? I'd recommend truing up your edges on a belt or drum sander, then dampen and burnish with a slicker. I think Edge Coat looks cheap and plastic , just beeswax and burnish for me. The metal stiffeners are a cool idea.

thanks guys, it is my first attempt so learnt a lot, ah I will try the beeswax the pictures were before i sanded I used a bobbin sander to get everything inline after stitching, I hand stitched after using a stitch punching tool, I made a couple of mistakes early on before I got the knack but I am happy with my outcome I want to do an arm guard next to match the leaves. thanks again wayne

Its amazing, i would urge anyone to have a crack, I watched a few videos on youtube, firstly how to stitch then how to tool the patterns in leather, I had a quick go of each on some small pieces then off i went power of the internet these days is superb to learn lots of new skills, I bought some cheap tools to do the things i needed I figured the cost was far cheaper than buying a new quiver and would have fun doing it and i can make other things,regards wayne

The leather was natural veg tanned leather 3.5mm thick I used an overall size of 24" x 15" this was enough for the whole quiver and the cut outs from the side gave me my pieces for my 3mm stainless rod panels, regards wayne
ps this is the chap i got the ideas for the carving, I didn't expect to be that good but i think I did a pretty ok attempt for my first go lol

The base I plan on using some nice wood, on the inside some closed cell foam with a sticky back the depth of the broad head to hold them in place, the strap will be 40mm veg tanned leather which I will show I have finished the stitching now so I can move to the final stages, pics to follow, regards wayne.

final leg, I have to punch the slots for the strap and pin the base in then I think i am there, had lots of fun making it and I can't wait to start using it, regards wayne
