March Day in SW Montana
« on: March 22, 2008, 10:31:00 PM »
I was up visiting the in-laws this week in SW Montana, and I was able to avoid the mother-in-law for a day by taking a drive and a walk.  Saw these...

and these...

and finally, these...

Too much snow and mud to make it up into the hills for some planned stump shooting, so I found a piece of BLM land with plenty of targets and returned with all of my arrows.  Here is the feather pattern of my arrow in the snow.

And here is the Silvertip.

Good day in the field.

Wow! That's awesome scenery! You've got good taste in bows, too! What was that big mob running? Elk?

I love the feather tracks in the snow! And the speedgoats! Were the mulies making a statement? You did a nice job with the placement of the bow in the snow, too, no footprints.

I thoroughly enjoyed our walk!

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

I can't wait to see I get drawn for my Montana tag!!!  My Fiancee' and I are planning on heading out that way in Sept.

She is a Native,  it will be my first trip on a Western hunt.  Planning to look for some property while there, expecting to retire in that area in June 2009.  That will give me 27 years with the P.D.   Man you got my blood flowing,  great photos.  Thank you mvery much!
