After all these years, I bare shafted.....
« on: June 03, 2018, 03:03:01 PM »
I’ve been shooting awhile. I’ve been paying attention to this forum. I thought I had good arrow flight until today. I have an elk hunt this fall. The first one for my Two Tracks Echo #62@31”. I’m 1 for 2 hunts with other bows. I’ve been shooting more and started to feel I was “in the groove “, so I thought being that I needed arrows for the hunt what could it hurt. The two arrows I moneyed with were a Easton Trad Only 400 and a Black Eagle Vintage 350.. Previousy my arrows were cut 32” BOP one inch longer than my draw. After shooting and cutting them I came up with some pretty good fliers. The Trad Only wound up being cut at 31 1/2” and the Black Eagle cut 32 7/8”. Both have a 250 for tip and a 50gr brass insert. The Trad Only weighed 615 gut and the Black Eagle was 663 gr. I’ve opted for the Black Eagle. I can’t believe how well these shot out of my Echo when I thought I had it all figured out. Just wanted to let you guys know and to say Thank You for all your help.

I find it the easiest method for real tuning.  I like to use weight of the fletching on the shaft and had been using a couple wraps of tape but found that 3/8" electrical shrink tube is best.  A 4" pre-cut section weighs 24 grains so I cut it by length to match fletching weight.
Super Curves.....
Covert Hunter Hex9h
Morrison Max 6 ILF
Mountain Muffler strings to keep them quiet
Shoot as much weight as you can with accuracy
