I have always been a fan of the mid 60's Kodiaks and always heard the 64 was favored by those in the know. The hunt was on. I already had a 65 and 66 on the rack and 64 is my birth year (bonus!). Fella listed this 64 in the bow section a while back and I was all over it. The bow is marked 45# but I bet it's closer to 48-50 at my draw. Everything I heard about the 64 turned out to be true. It is one fast and sweet shooting bow! This was a very good find for me!

"62" is the year I was born and I'm now in the process of finding one Of each model made that year. The 64's are spoken of very highly by Everyone. After I finish getting all My 62's I will try for a 64. Nice bow and a great find Hope You enjoy many years of shooting with it. bretto

Yea, them vintage Kodiaks really are sweet bows. I have been spending most my time with the 64 lately and it will be in tow at Baltmore, hun! If you want to give her a whirl, just say the word and she's all yours, for a few shots that is. She'll most likely go to Denton Hill this year also and I'm hoping to take some venison with her this fall. The grip is a bit smaller/narrower then the 65 and 66 and fits real snug in my grippers. The 65 and 66 are more forgiving on the shot but the 64 is a bit faster and most certainly quieter. Good stuff!

quietest bow I've ever heard.... or not heard for that matter! Super shooter too. I was envious when I picked it up and I was shooting a Snakebit... Tells ya something about them old Bear bows. They made em good back then.

Did that 64 come camo'ed from the factory, Don? I know they offered camo on some bows (something about covering up some finish flaws). I knew Greg liked the 64 right after he first shot it and his groups were proof positive. Took the boys killin stumps yesterday on the back 40 and they were asking about you.

These old Bears start to get in your blood and you realize that there ain't a whole lot of perfomance difference between some of these select vintage bows and current bows being offered today. They really do blur the line and I am starting to see why some vintage bows are more desirable over others.

I think I'm going to need a bigger bow rack here shortly...and a second job to support my habit

Oh yeah JL it's factory camo and has a big + stamped right on the serial number from the factory...Sold with no warrenty....it may be blemished..I never removed the factory camo to see,but pretty sure it would be.Some bows were blemished so they got camo painted stamped and sold at a discount price with no warrenty to big time Bear dealers who bought lots of hunting models(like the one I have)....But pretty much as a rule the bows that were camo painted and do not have a star,+,Y or 22's stamped over the serial number...were not blemished but actually ordered in camo.Bear would pull a bow from stock camo paint it and away it went....Most all of those have the original info and silk screens under the camo paint as well.But yes camo was a great way to hide stress cracks and other blems that were in the bows.Well known fact with Bear collecters too....from 1961 until 1965 Bear painted the limbs the same color or very near the same color as the fiberglass.That was a little trick also used to hide stress cracks.I love those old Kodiaks.....bowdoc

really guy's,I don't want to insult anyone.I think some of the new bows are pretty sharp looking.And some of em shoot just great,but come on...take a look at the pic Otto posted and look at the form of them beauties..you gotta admit it come on....bowdoc
