here is the newest try at a bow. the side marked top is 1/4" more then the other side. ( No matter which end I put the bowyers knot, the side marked top is 1/4" more ) It is slightly bending in the handle and the weight is 45#&23.5"....

if I back it, how much weight gain will I get? If I do back I'll be adding deflex (I think I'm calling it by the right name)( tips forward of handle ).

Looks pretty good, maybe a little more bending near the fads,as far as backing I guess it would depend on what you back it with,Bo or Hickory,I don't really know what to tell you I don't back many.I am sure someone will show up that does.
Good job so far,How much set has it taken ?

about 3/4" right now. I'm waiting for a string a friend is making me. brace is 6.5" now and I have a 40-45# arrow cut 26"BOP w/160 point flying a little stiff. I think one cut 27"BOP will work way better...

It looks pretty good to me.  I agree that you might need to tweak the near handle wood to bend a touch more but it should live as it is.  How much more weight do you want?  Are you at full draw?

I'm at full draw 24" bellyside of handle. I'm only looking to get 5# maybe 10#... was thinking about fiberglass fabric and deflexing the tips up about 2".

A hickory backing would probably be the easiest.  Glue up 1-2" of reflex and you should get what you want from it.  I'd go less than 1/8" thick on the backing.

I knew I had them backwards, So the fiberglass won't work....Kool

I did some half drawn shooting, to fine a good spot for a floopy rest. got my hand cut once... No more...LOL...

After braking the 40-45# arrow I had 2 50-55#'s that flow really good when form was good. Tomorrow I'll recheck the weight at 23.5" ( for what I tillered at )to see what it is. I'm still waiting from a new string, Right now I'm using art-sinew from now.. Little thicker then a B-50 string, so I'll know more with the right string.
