What’s the best face paint?
« on: June 24, 2018, 01:48:14 PM »
Hey Gang,
What the best face paint available? I have always used face masks but want to try paint for hot weather.
I’m sure there is a few of you or more that have found the best option.
Thanks for sharing your time and experience.

Charred cork, save them from wine bottles.

I like carbo mask because it cleans up easier than the military grease paint.

X4 on the carbo mask, it actually feels really good too putting it on and comes off easy when your ready, not all greasy either!  I bought some Hardy but haven't used it yet.

carbo mask is great but if you sweat it runs and needs to be reapplied , but I haven't found anything better.

Used Carbo Mask on 102 deer hunts during the 2016/2017 season and used Carbo Mask on 79 hunts last season.

My own personal choice. The next choice would be a quite distant 2nd.

This!!
I’ve tried just about everything and this is the cheapest and best option I’ve tried.
I didn’t care for the carbo mask. To thin and runny for me and had to keep re-applying.
The face paint cleans up easily with a damp cloth

My vote goes to Hardy's face paint. Super easy to apply without having to get your hands all painted and even easier to take off. Most of the cheap stuff from wally world is good, but sure is a pain to get off. It also depends on how you want to use it. If im at hunting camp or backpacking I could care less how easy it is to get off, but if I am making a quick hunt with somewhere to be after then a face paint thats easy to remove is best.

My brother in law had some of that one time. Seems like some good quality stuff!!
I also agree that most “face paint” from Wally World or anywhere is very hard to get off. The stuff they use for halloween is a lot easier to remove for some reason

I've used carbo mask for a few years and it is good for short stand hunts but I'm not real impressed with how it performs if you are sweating.  I've found the HS cream paint in the tube is about perfect for me when mountain hunting or turkey hunting where I will be sweating a good bit.  I also like the fact that it comes off really easy with baby wipes.  Just my opinion though.

Are you guys applying war paint? Or just smearing some on to cut the glare? Who cares if it runs a little.

I had good results with the Hardy paint last year. Easy on and off. The typical green military type stuff is just too much of a pain to get off.

Have only used HS and it worked so I haven't tried anything else.  It stays on well. and I also use baby wipes to take it off.
