Time to make the targets
« on: July 10, 2018, 08:41:23 AM »
One bag target completed, 23 more to go to get ready for Bowfest at the end of next month. Im working solo since my oldest son and business partner is facing knee surgery on Friday after blowing out his knee recently.

Woven bag that I sew and also sew loops in the corners to hang the bag.

Ethafoam outer layer to give the bag a square shape

Dense foam (dark matter) offer a bit of pinch friction and keeps the arrows sticking straight out so they dont droop.

Energy mat core (the heart of the stopping power)

Assembled in a box frame so they are all the same size and shape.

Hog Rings to secure the bottom.

Alternating spot locations from the front to the back to reduce shoot through

The target is made of  a woven bag, then a layer of ethafoam than high density foam (these keep the arrows sticking straight out rather than drooping but also cause  bit of "pinch friction". The heart of the target is the mutli layers of compressive energy mat that absorbs the energy. the targets weigh 10 pounds.

Those look great. And I like the fact that they are a well thought out and designed target. Instead of just a bag of soft stuff like a lot of targets.

Good work, looks awesome!

I don't sell them online or offer them for sale to anybody outside of shoot I attend. Freight would be too costly. IM making these for the upcoming bowfest.

Where do you find those materials?

I buy the bags and the threads to sew but all the other materials are byproducts of local manufacturing that I pick up before they go to recycling.
