Lost My Little Hunting Partner Today
« on: July 18, 2018, 05:04:06 PM »
My wife & I laid our beloved Cash to rest this afternoon. She loved everyone especially kids...but was a fierce hunting/tracking dog. She has left a big hole in my heart that I'm not sure how I can fill. She was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia/Stage 5 Lymphoma less than 6 weeks ago.  I checked with oncologists across the country for some type of treatment plan even experimental...but to no avail.  The cancer and pain are now gone so rest in peace my dear Cashy.

She got to enjoy a little sun under one of her favorite bushy spots this morning.

Sorry to hear. Will you be getting another?

Sorry to hear Doc, it's never easy. Lost my Blue Heeler the same way in March.

Sorry to hear that. We lost both of our dogs last year.  One to old age, one to Canine dysautonomia.  Just now ready to get a new one.

I really feel for you and your wife.  Losing a dog is a hard thing to do.  My oldest JRT is getting up in years and I dread the day he has to go away.  Since our kids grew up and moved away, our dogs have become our children.

Sorry to hear that Jeff.  They just weasel their way in and won't let go.  Wasn't Billy her sire?  Who was the dam?

It is always hard to lose a canine companion. My condolences.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

So sorry for your loss, as said above pets are family.  I had to put my chocolate lab down at 5 years, I know the pain you feel, I have a picture of him and his half sister in my toolbox at work. Not a day goes by that I don’t look at them and I don’t choke up a bit.  We had to put her down at 11 years, they were 2 years apart.  The pain will slowly go, but the memories you made with them will last forever. Know that she is in a better place pain free, and enjoying all the sights and smells of the woods.  In my prayers.

Thanks for all your kind words.  As a veterinarian I've gone down this road many times...never easy!

Nathan,
Billy was her sire to our Tilly another off line from the Jeanneney's breeding.  I have been in touch with Jolanta to let her know.  They have been very supportive.
