riser block question???

So I'm going to make a laminated riser block from a couple of different woods for a trip-lam bow I'm helping my friends son make. My question is do I have to keep the laminated  block so it is paralell to the bow or can I turn it 90 deg. so the lams are perpendicular to the belly of the bow?

It will be stronger with glue joints running back to belly, but if it isn't a heavyweight, it won't matter much.

A laminated riser is plenty strong either way usually.

I've done 'em both ways.  It will come out fine.

Thanks guys, I think I'm gonna leave them run parallel but cut it in half and sandwich a piece of black walnut down the middle like an I beam riser. Just trying to mix it up a bit.
