I would like to introduce Brooke
« on: March 26, 2008, 10:01:00 AM »
I would like to introduce a friend of mine's 8 yr. old little girl, Brooke.  She was the recipient of a Hill Chipmunk Slayer longbow graciously provided by Jason (Elksong) who passed it along from a little boy who left us way too soon.
Brooke is also wearing a leather armguard generously provided by Mike of Mike's Archery Leather and is shooting some arrows sent by Dave (Vermonster13).
As you can see by Brooke's smile, I think she likes 'em and I'm honored to pass along our archery tradition as well as keeping the little boy's spirit alive forever.
Here's Brooke:
And here's Brooke on the draw (I'll work on her form later):
Not a bad grouping!:
Brooke and her little brother, Forrest:

Thanks to all who participated in introducing another youngster to traditional archery.

All right, Tom! - Glad to see you back in the swing. I will, of course, "lift" the Full Draw pics and post them on my Traditional Bows Drawn section of my website - probably sometime today if I get time. Brooke will appear on Page 15 (the current page - that is almost full). at 60 pics per page that's ummmmmmmm aproximately ummmmmmmmmmm 900 Full Draw pics of your friends and acquaintences -   :D

Beautiful! My Granddaugther is almost two! I already have a little longbow in the bow rack waiting for her, when it's time!
Someday you and I will take the Great Hart by our own skill alone, and with an arrow. And then the Little Gods of the Woods will chuckle and rub their hands and say, "Look, Brothers. An Archer! The Old Times are not altogether gone!"

Thanks Tom, it is a real pleasure 'meeting' Brook and seeing her have so much fun with the bow. I, too, was eight when I got my first bow, I only wish that I had had archers around to help me out with it. Brooke is a very lucky gal!  :readit:

I love it!

My little girl, 12 now , is also a Brooke, Brooke Hunter to be more specific. She too loves trad archery and shoots an osage longbow. Cut her umbilical with a Zwickey back in 95.
