I'd check with Kenny first for tip overlay materials...

I believe micarta is a brand name of phenolic, could be wrong there.

I have linen phenolic in 1/16,, 1/8,, 1/4 inch any size .  The 1/4" I need to sell in 36" lengths as I get a lot of short pcs if not.

In fact if you are looking for tip overlays, I may have some short pcs in black I could make you a deal on.....
Stay sharp, Kenny.

That’s it Kenny.  I call It Micarta. I think it’s an old trade name for the Westinghouse countertop laminate .  It can be paper based or linen I do not care. Old trivia here from my old competitive duck calling days.... they made a paper base ivory color in 80s that made the best competition call out there. When it was turned to a duck call well it looked like bone and was gorgeous but also produced a distinct ring the judges liked. Then they quit making it which made it more valuable to find. A a lot of your old Waffle House counter top were Westinghouse micarta. Ok I’ll quit.   I am getting boring

People need to get a life. That dose not mean to take someone else’s, or to make one they can't support.

If you fish and hunt only to catch or kill something. You have MISSED THE POINT COMPLETELY.

I posted a micarta makealong here a while back - it's easy to do!
Each day the devil whispered in my ear -"you will not withstand the storm."
Today I whispered in the devil's ear - " I am the storm..."

You can still make real Micarta, just need to get your hands on some phenol+ formalehyde and find some place to cook it under pressure.
And make sure your last will is up to date.
