Crittergetter, that Silvertip longbow is stunning. Those bows have been my favorite so far. I picked up one on the used market, killed my first elk with it (along with several gophers), then was contacted by the original owner (Caricajou sp?) and after a year of pleading I sold it back to him. I just built my first bow and modeled the riser after Dave's. It turned out pretty good, but after seeing your pics and the nice finish you put on there, sure made me miss it! Please let me know if you ever want to sell it! Cheers

That was a customers bow that I reduced the weight and refinished for him.
But thx for the kind words!!

Great looking job on the 'Tip.

Nice work Randy!!

Were those complete strips and refinish?
If so....couple questions....How do you redo the finish on the checkering? And is that where the bear medallion is originally?

Bvas, on the silvertip I did not sand the checkering. I carefully sanded around it and stripped all the old finish off. Then sprayed as normal.
On the bear bow that’s where the medallion was when I got it. Not sure if that’s the original position or not.

Nice!! One more....Did you reletter the silver tip, or preserve the writing and blend the finish?

Either way, looks fantastic
