bowfishing reel
« on: March 26, 2008, 06:51:00 PM »
Hi, I'm a Newbie and I just got a new longbow that I want to bow fish with. However I don't know what reel to get or how to attach it to the bow. Can someone please help me?
Thank You
Jim

You can buy an inexpensive tape on reel or get an AMS and a Gadget adapter.    3Rivers

Jim,
Go with the AMS rig. You can get a wrap on mount from 3-Rivers for your long bow. I use the same set up for carp on the deleware. There are a bunch of bow-fishing sites on the web as well.

Like my AMS rig.  I drilled and installed inserts, but you can use the strap on adapter if you don't want to do that.

if you use the ams reel get the traditional strap not the gadget adapter.
