Let's not get all personal and defensive about Dan's post. He's expressing his impression.
Dan, there are some other sites with a different focus, different vibe; don't know if you've checked any others out... if you describe what you're hoping to get from a forum, I might be able to point you towards some options.

Even among long time users here, sometimes something just doesn't sit right, and some move on. Others are booted out by a moderator, if they feel there's a reason.

Meanwhile, there's a wealth of knowledge, and community, if that has any appeal to you. If not, probably best to lay low and just view what you want than appear to be openly critical; the moderators don't take kindly to that, and right or wrong, that's their call.

This thread could get a little touchy... I hope all who chime in will go back and read the "first rule" here: Expect to be respected, it is, if I recall correctly.

Odd post...  Many of us really like this site.  I've seen lots come and go.  They typically go to one of the other sites (which I'm a member of too).  The funny thing is I end up seeing those same people be unhappy or banned from those sites eventually too (or they come here after being booted from one of the other sites).  Yet, they continue to blame the sites or the mods rather than accepting any of the responsibility. 

This site maybe isn't for everyone, but what's the point of making this post?

Lots of great info and people here.  I know the ones that I tend to really trust and follow.  But, to each there own... I for one really enjoy this site!
