Takes a while chopping out feathers, putting them on, and cutting in self nocks, but damn it's fun...
Gonna shoot em a while and then mount some old bear razor heads on a few to poke ah deer with:)

Do you have to use self nocks with bamboo or can you use a glue on?

I'm a 70 year old fart so I shoot a 40# bow.
It's a yew, yew, bamboo backed trilam I built with an osage riser and buffalo horn tip overlays.

Roy, I build cane arrows also. Not sure if you do this or not but I got a bag of bamboo skewer sticks at the dollar store and I glue about a two inch piece in each end of the arrow using titebond three. It really strengthens the ends of the arrow especially when you self nock. This also gives me a solid end to nock taper as well so I can use glue on nocks. I need the buildup at the point end because I use stone points. Nice looking sticks. I am also pushing 70 and use a 40# Northern Mist or 40 #self bow.

Thanks, Jon.
Yes I have glued in small dowels at the nock end and point end as well then used smooth on epoxy.
Then either did self nocks or put on plastic nocks.
I've even used larger longer osage dowels with one end reduced to fit inside the boo shaft and then did the nock or point taper on the end of the osage.
Just depends on my mood at the time how I do it.
You know how moody us old guys can be..

Well done pretty arrows... Curious what kind of spine you're getting out of bamboo?
