2 weeks before season and my broadheads are hitting very consistently low. Trying to diagnose the problem my mind goes to paper tuning or filming arrow flight to look for porpoising or some other erratic arrow flight issue. Have been shooting very regularly over last year and my shot process and form has become much more consistent and repeatable. Thanks to the guys on the Push podcast I've learned much about proper form, which I’ve been trying to apply. As I drew my broadhead tipped arrow closer and closer to my knuckle it dawned on me. My draw length has drastically changed. I attribute it to the increased focus on back tension and expanding through my release. Measured it tonight —-30 1/2”. Have been shooting 28 1/2” since switching to trad equipment. Great news in regards to hunting efficiency, bad timing. Back to square one building arrows and tuning with Ohio’s archery season approaching quickly. I’m shooting a 58” 53lb @ 28” black widow pch, ce heritage 150’s, 150 gn snuffers, and regular aluminum inserts. I have one uncut arrow to experiment with. May be too weak of spine with increased draw length and weight. Will be interesting any way you look at it. I guess I should say thanks to the Push guys and Tom Clum for this just wish I realized it 3 months ago.
