Paul and Bart....Man, I wish they were still here!
« on: March 27, 2008, 11:57:00 AM »
Just watched the grainy footage of the famous Brown Bear hunt, and kill by Bart Schleyer, along with Paul Schafer, Brad Adams, and Jeff Booth.

Who ever thought that 3 out of the 4 men in that video would no longer be with us today? The scenes of Paul and Bart together are priceless, in my opinion, 2 of the Greatest bowhunters who ever walked the earth. The end of the video, capitalizes on Bart's comments on having Paul Schafer as his back up during the hunt...can you imagine being there in that position? The Wild hunt, the HUGE Brown Bear, The comraderie, and the effort involved to pull off a stalk on a tremendous animal. The scene of Bart removing his hip boots quietly, so that he could cross the muskeg in already wet socks is priceless.

Just want to say, that to me, its the epitomy of an incredible hunt by a group of some of Tradtional Bowhunting Legends! Live on, Paul, Bart, and Jeff!

ya i often think about what they would be up to if they where still with us today. i often look though the videos and pics. Must have been an amazing hunt! could not agree with you more when you see the famous picture of the four of them behind the huge bear. Inspiring characters that achieved so much as good people as well as bowhunting.

A bowhunting Role model and Legend for sure!

May I ask if that footage is available online, or was it part of a film you purchased ?  IMHO watching that would be some time well spent.

Thanks Tim.  The biggest challenge is getting caught between Gene and Barry when they disagree on what should go where:^)!!!
