Having been through the routine, things go slow so don't worry to much. I had my first PSA at age 48 because my older brother was diagnosed with prostate cancer (you have a high likelyhood if a sibling or parent has it). It was elevated at about 5 at that time. Went through years of retests and periodic biopsie testing until at age of 56 and a PSA of 17 before biopsies showed any cancer and the docs decided it had progressed enough to treat. Had surgery in the spring, was back to work in a week, and hunting in the fall with everything pretty much back to normal except still wasn't back to full strength after the 12 week imposed activity restrictions the surgery. Two years later things are completely back to normal.
So hang in there, catching it early is the most important thing, and you are in a position to do that. I am available if you have questions.
Living alone, not married, no heirs--- that recovery time is the real issue... Things and surgeons vary time to time and place to place, but 12 weeks?
Gads! Hard to keep up a house/groceries when or depending what restrictions... or activity...
Time will tell... I've had BPH since my late 30's and taking a Beta Blocker for 20-25 years or in that range; and every Urologist I've seen in various states I lived had differing opinions on this or that... it'll be interested to see what this bird will say whenever I finally get to see him.
Got my attention, for sure, but worry? Well, whatever will be, will be I guess. it's in the Lord's hands so given we're all there all the time, I guess it'll be whatever it'll be...
