Palmer single carbon - What's it worth?
«

I have a Palmer single carbon recurve with two sets of limbs. One set is 54#@28" and the other is 59@29". It is a left handed bow but the limbs will work on both right and left. The riser has a couple of chips and some light scratches from lots of hunting and shooting. Everything else is in good shape, no twists or anything. I am thinking about getting rid of this bow but I dont really know what it's worth. Any opinions?

As I recall, A a couple of years ago I gave $375 (shipped to me) for about the same bow with one set of limbs. So I'd say 300-350 for the bow, and another 100-150 for the second set of limbs. You might do a little better than that, I don't know.
You might sell the second set of limbs separately, because they are pretty close in weight.
Is the bow brown or grey? I have a grey one, a lefty like yours. I like the brown better. The bow shoots really good though.

I'd say Tom is pretty darn close, although you probably will do better seperating the limbs as they would appeal to a larger crowd of right handers and pull better money that way. Ben

Those prices are awful low. With the cost of a new Palmer being what it is($1200) and limbs are $600 a set and a years wait. The lefty part will hurt it some but still, the limbs being able to be used on either type riser if in good shape are easily worth $300 a set. You have $700-$800 worth of bow in the entire rig if in good to very good condition.

You said the bow is a lefty with chips and scratches from lots of shooting and hunting, right? Then I believe $500-600 for bow and the extra limbs.

Brown is better IMHO.
The new Palmer is being made only in the high-end version. Thats why its so expensive. That, and I think Palmer is keeping plenty busy with guiding hunts, and doesn't need to do volume business in bows anymore.

You can buy a new riser for $300 in basic brown from Mike still. The limbs are where the value is if they aren't scuffed up.

There is a LH Palmer on trad. bows right now for $525 with two sets of limbs one carbon and one regular.I think the lh riser and the scuffs is what will hold down the price since the market is so much smaller. Ben

In talking with Nancy you cannot buy the plane brown or gray riser or limbs from Palmer anymore-only the $1200 trad slam.

Things must have changed recently. When I spoke with them a little while back Mike said he'd build me one for a set of limbs I had if I wanted.

I would say $500-600 with both sets of limbs. They are ood shooters, look at Bob Lees bows and see if there is much of a difference, there is not. Shawn
