I've never stayed home because of where the sun or moon was. The best time to go is when you can!

I used to look at them all the time.
Then I figured out that I was going hunting when I had the chance, so, what was the point. 
I also had someone mention to me, " Don't you sometimes get up at night to use the bathroom?" 
Anther way to look at it, something could also bump a deer out of bed. Like a dog or just a tree branch that falls from a tree unexpectedly.

I think the moon affects everything on earth. Not sure about moon charts or lunar tables, but experience has taught me that i would prefer hunting a dark or full moon. Im hunting either way!    Ok , I will probably take some heat about this statement, but here it goes. I have a cow pasture right beside my house. When I leave home headed for a morning hunt and all of those cows are laying down , I am not expecting to see a deer on the 5,10,15,25 mile ride to where im hunting and for the first few hours of my hunt. This is from 25 years of careful observation hunting in some of the best counties in Virginia. There is something to it! I have serious hunting buddies that used to text me early and ask" were the cows laying down"?

It works!  For both game and fish. I hunt whenever I can but I use the moon to direct me to be out at certain times, certain days.

Yes most of the game animals we hunt are affected by lunar activity. We factor this in when planning our month out. Of course we are all wired to hunt "when we can" but when I know feeding activity is very unlikely I do plan a few days each month to 'in season scout days' rather than 'gotta be in a tree days'. True enough I can't stand it and break my own rule and often hunt but I do stay off my best spots for that few days. And Mega Dittos on Cattle observation.
We also use this information when planning hunts with significant drive time and vacation weeks.

I used to keep the kill records for a big hunting club, I would see the kill ratio ramp up along with a favorable moon phase.

I thought that I was the only one who payed attention to the cows. They tell a lot. For me the best thing that they do is serve as a bear alarm. If I pull up in the morning and the cows are all laying down right by the house and not further back in the pasture, then that's usually a good indication that there is or has been a bear through really recently. Generally when a bear comes through I don't see anything for the next two or three days.

The cow thing; I first heard it relative to fishing. I do think there's something to it, and the moon phase as well, but I only note those things in passing. The most obvious effect of the moon is on night activity of deer. When I lived in SC, it was legal to spotlight until 10 pm, as long as there were no weapons in the vehicle. The club I was in rode the roads after dark regularly, and we would count the number of deer seen. The most were seen when the moon was dark. On full moon nights they were noticeably absent from the fields. I figure maybe they had enough light to feed in the woods, but sightings during morning and evening hunts dropped off too. I made it a point to hunt through the noon hours, and saw lots of deer taken that way, including some big bucks.

Don, i often find early afternoon noon-2 pm productive during full moon .

Hunting badger, I think it works with bears and moose, too. And reindeer.
