Gather around all  for a little tale. This story takes place back in 2010 on a autumn night. On this day a chance picture caught my eye.

The picture I got was a young deer with some interesting head gear. He had a total of 13 points that seemed to go in every direction.

Now I didn't get to excited cause I was after bigger things. I season ended with out anymore sightings. The years went by and every now and then I get a glimpse of lucky 13. He would show up for a while and then just vanish till the next year.

In 2014 he showed his self just enough for me to get excited.

He unfortunately vanished till January 2015.

He was around here and there in 16 and I had one sighting in 2017. He was pretty much a ghost. That all changed this year in July I got a pic and said that deer looks old. He has a cut in the ear marking him.

I didn't think to much about it and continued to check the camera. I been putting a food plot here for several years now and this deer seemed to be hanging around. A little while later this is where he's at.

Now fast forward to last night. I work with a guy that has been going on about the red moon and big deer movement. I don't know if I believe any of it but I figured it couldn't hurt. I had to work but laid out early. The wind for the stand was perfect and weather even better.

I got in the stand pretty early and settled in. Time passed slowly but it was nice just to get out a little. Shortly after 6 I heard a deer walking. When I realize what was approaching I bout fell off my seat. I couldn't believe what an awesome animal. The body was enormous the biggest I've seen in 25 years of bow hunting.   He got to about 12 yards and I had no shot. He was quartered to me and getting closer. Just about when I thought I'd get a shot he snap up looking and ran straight away from me.

I was bewildered the wind was good and I was still. The next thing I knew another buck came running by. The big guy was chasing him and ran him off. He apparently was aggravated cause he walk fast back toward me. Needing to get back to the meal at hand. He came fast walking at me I was ready.

When he got to the 6 yard line his body was gigantic. I took my time he got completely broadside. I picked a small spot pulled all 51 lbs and felt anchor. The treeshark was off finding the mark. It buried clear to the nock he kicked and ran like a streak. I recently got a string tracker and this was the first thing I've use one on. The line sped away but not for very long. All got still and I just sat there collecting myself.
