Not retro but modified for sure and man do I wish I would have kept it. 06 liberty 65th anniversary edition. Custom lift based off of bds springs, bilstein shocks, jba top plates and control arms with extra isolators in the rear and Clovis lift in the front. Belly skids, black rock rims, 285 Mickey Thompson's breather rerouted into the cab behind the dash, homebuilt crossbar and roof box for my climber stand

The short lived replacement for the jeep. 03 f250 7.3 powerstroke. Extra leaf springs added to the packs, overload bags on the rear, big wide nitto terra grapplers. Rebuilt the motor from the bottom up. Ditched the little garret turbo for a big 96 mm borge Warner with 6.0 intercooler, dt466 hybrid injectors, water methanol injection and as much fuel as she could possibly flow. 1400ft/lb of earth shifting torque. Rest of the truck sadly didn't hold up to well. She was my hunting rig as well as our back up vehicle for work for when we really needed supplies quick

My lifted 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport with 265,000 miles on it. I have taken this on a ton of hunts and fishing trips. There will be many more.

Roy:
I do try to keep it in good shape and fix things whenever they need attention. I will install a new headliner and do some touch-up painting of a few nicks pretty soon, for example. My theory is that if I don't let it get too ratty it won't be hard to keep it clean.

Pop and I looking over the Mississippi River at our club in the MS Delta. Our vintage fully restored 1952 Willys is my single favorite piece of hunting gear I have ever owned or made.  Absolutely cherish this relic and it stays in tip top condition

Joebuck, you got it going on. Something about a trusty ole 4WD that gets real sentimental. Awesome ride buddy!

I had this 4cyl Scrambler in the early 1980's, It had a custom cover on the little box. I bought it used and I don't remember what year it was. It was a great little hunting rig....I wish I still had it.

Mine was...a 1970 K5 Blazer. metallic green, 350 V8, Holley carb, after market headers, factory positraction rear, 8 mpg. It was a beast. Rarley stuck even when I was stupid. But when it all was working she was a dream. I'll dig up a photo from the attic.
Actually it matches the vehicle in a story in one of G Fred Asbell's books, in a chapter called "Old Green"

This one will go places I won't take it anyway, but gives me a few more options!

Nice Joey.... that really brings back memories... there were quite a few of those running around North Georgia chasing Critters when I was growing up.

Love the old Yotas. Nothing built as well since IMO. Wish I could have bought one new!

Limbshaker, can you believe that truck was just shy of $11,000 when I bought it?

Almost everything is original. 2 starters, 3 fuel pumps, and of course shocks, brake pads, a couple of mufflers, 1 master cylinder, and a clutch slave, etc...  but everything else is original from 1986. The original alternator is still in it.  Not too hard for a backyard mechanic to work on either.

They don’t build stuff like that anymore.
