Hello, and questions

I’ve been lurking around here and AT, gathering setup info for my ‘59 Bear Alaskan.

My Dad bought it new in Waynesville MO. I shot it alot as a kid, but it hadn’t been strung in about 40 years. I saw a PBS show on trad archery and it re-lit the fire. A little research convinced me it was safe to shoot, so I got it up and running.
Question 1: This the only one I’ve seen with the letter “E”, or any letter for that matter, below the length/poundage info.

Anyone know what this means?

Question 2: Dad bought this bow, used, shortly afterwards for my Mom.

These are the only markings on it.

Any ideas about make/model on it?

Thank you in advance, and a big thumbs up to this forum for all the knowledge. She’s a sweet shooter.
My goal is to harvest a deer with it while Dad’s still alive to see it.

Beautiful bow; I’m envious.  45# and 62” is a good weight and length for a bow.  Make sure you don't overbow yourself until you get used to it.  Have you put a new string on it?  Might be a good idea.  I wonder what the 30-36 over 60 marking is on the other side of the bow.

For that second one, maybe 30 pounds at 26 inches of draw, and a bow length of 60?

Yes, new string, arrows and quiver.

As Trenton said, the 30/26/60 is on the other bow I asked about, referring to the weight, draw length and bow length.

Personally I would change out that quiver as it an accident waiting to happen. It may be original to the bow but exposed BH's may be a d=serious mistake,IMHO.

Nice bow. I totally agree with those advising against the bow quiver. I stabbed myself in the thigh with one.

I appreciate the concern and sage advice regarding the quiver.
It has a hood, which I didn’t put on to snap that pic.
I apologize to anyone I may have misled into thinking that was OK.

I can't find the significance of the "E", but your "Halloween Bow" with  black/orange glass makes it the most desirable of the Alaskans for collectors, according to George Coppen's book "Bear Archery Traditional Bows". Serial numbers and prefixes were not listed for that year (1959) so no data is available in that regard.
