One less fawn killer
« on: November 05, 2018, 09:28:10 AM »
This is my first tradition harvest since joining here so I had to share.

I’m not sure where to post this so if it’s in the wrong spot please feel free to move.

First of all I need to introduce myself,  I’ve been lurking around here for a few months and been gleaning a lot of useful information that has really helped my shooting out. I’ve been shooting traditional for a little over 20 years and have even made a few osage self bows in my younger days. I’ve been away from the sport for a few years due to young kids and other family obligations. I’m basically having to learn all over again and try to erase all of my old habits.

Thank you all for the information you’ve provided here. Some of it may seem simple but it can really help out some hard headed guys like me.

Anyway I was out still hunting a river oxbow for cruising bucks yesterday and a pair of coyotes came my direction. I wasn’t seeing any deer so I gave them a lip squeak and the male came trotting in to about 10 yards. I put a good shot on him and he went about 80 yards.

Nice shot!  It's good to know there'll be one less 'yote heading into the winter.
