I suppose we need to be able to shoot from many different positions, but I would hate to have to spend much time shooting with my a$$ on the ground. I need to align my shoulders with the target to shoot accurately. When I am sitting on the ground, I have about a 15 degree range of motion where I can keep my shoulders aligned with the target. I might be able to extend that if I scooted my butt around in a circle, but that would create a lot of obvious motion. On my knees, kneeling, or on a stool I can pivot my upper body around and keep my shoulders alligned over a much greater range. The other problem is maintaining the magic T. Of course, I could just cant my bow until I have ground clearance, but without tilting when I cant to maintain the T, I lose accuracy. I can lean, twist, and tilt sitting on a stool, on my knees, or kneeling, but not so easily if I’m sitting on my a$$.
