Well last Saturday I turned the big 3-0. My wife really hit it out of the park for my present. She got with Will at Black River Bows and had a recurve made for me. I simply told her the specs I wanted and she wanted to surprise me with the rest. Her and Will did an amazing job! I got a 58" recurve that is 58lbs at 28". They picked black and white ebony limbs and riser with ebony diamond wood also in the riser. Flair riser with moose antler tips and riser overlay. She's a looker!
I love the way the bow shoots. As it turns out, I can shoot the same arrows out of it that I use in my Widow. I wanted a little heavier poundage because I love to shoot treesharks and I wanted to make sure I got more pass-throughs.
I had the day off Friday so I was sitting over some white oaks the deer were hammering at daylight. I had a great morning as I watched wood ducks, turkeys, and a doe with 2 fawns feed all around me. Just as I was fixing to call it a morning, I see a big, lone doe headed my way. She comes right to the tree and starts feeding around. She turned broadside at about 22 yards and I decided to let one fly. The shot felt great and I watched the arrow zip through her right where I was looking. She ran about 50 yards, stopped and then flipped over backwards! What a morning! My favorite part may be the fact that my arrow was buried about 3 inches in the dirt right where I shot her. Now that's what I've been wanting! To say I'm pleased with the bow is an understatement. Now its time to look for some antlers. Thanks for reading!
