What Trad Style Recurve?

I am looking to buy a new traditional style recurve in the 58-60 inch range.  Who makes a solid shooting recurve that won't break the bank?
I shoot longbows for the most part am not sure how big of a change this might be.  Would appriciate any input.

I don't think switching from a longbow to a 1pc recurve would be a "drastic" change.....There are plenty of resonably priced 1pc recurves out there,and you could save even more money if you bought used off the TG classifieds.

You didn't say what type of longbow you shoot. If it's a Hill style,then maybe switching to a "hybrid" longbow would be appealing to you.

You can't beat a Toelke onepiece. Awesome shooters and the best finish i've ever seen. Very smooth and quiet bows with a awesome grip.

I shoot both a hybred and a straight style bow.  My Northernmist is by far my go to bow.  Thanks for the input, I will check out both style bows.

if you want a cheap bow that is good get a quin
they have metal risers [kinda a turn off for me] i have shot a couple different ones, i was so suprised about how stable and good they shot for $250.00
i normaly shoot longbows, but if i wanted a cheap recurve i would buy a quin

There are plenty of quality one-pc bows on the market that will not break the bank. Some that I favor are Bear Grizzly, Kodiak Hunter, Howatt Hunter, Martin Mamba, etc.  

I have seen many of these in the $100-200 range.  The odds are also great that you can retrieve your investment when ready to re-sell.

I also would say look for a used Bear or Martin/Howatt Hunter one piece. Very solid bows that perform and not a big expense.

I'd agree w/ Blackhawk & Yankee. Lots of good used Bears, Howatts, etc. for .50 on the dollar compared to buying new. Even if you want a higher end custom you'll save a bunch buying used. If it doesn't work for you you can sell without a loss.

Since you like Longbows and are looking for a curve I would suggest a 50s style with a longbow style grip and riser.Kohannah.Whisperstick,Great northern.Ancient Spirits Kadiak ,Thunderstick Ramhorn are all excellant ones to look at for an easy transition from bow to bow.Theirs other ones ofcourse that are nice no doubt.

Let me just say my whisperstick is oh so quiet, and fast...mine shoots a 63#spine woodie like darts, it loves carbon vaporwoods, Beman MFX and legacy aluminum, Mine is 53# @28....wish I had ordered a 60#....this is a hunting bow!!!can I tell ya ...this aint ur grand daddy's bow!

There are a couple in the Classifieds at least they were there this AM .A Great Northern Ghost and a Jim Reynolds Ramhorn Recurve. The downside is the RamHorn is a 52or a 54 I believe. Don't let the shortness of the bows scare you though. If your go to bow is a Northern Mist the Ghost would be a better choice. Believs me the price is right too I think it was 400.00.Bowferd has the Ghost Recurve.
