New bow arrival- Blacktail Columbian Longbow
« on: November 25, 2018, 04:52:57 PM »
Well... My wife brought me a package to the ambulance station on a long 72hr shift.  Absolutely gorgeous (and the bow is a stunner as well).  I knew it was going to be beautiful but not ever having held one, I was VERY nervous about how it would feel and shoot.  Especially the size of the grip.  I tend to like a smaller, narrower throat. Alan Pope assured me I would love it and he was dead right.  My first six shots were dead on.  My wife even said I acted surprised.  It shot great and will be even better after I put some Navajo string silencers and a quiver on it.

That is a good looking stick.  Gotta love that spalted maple.
What's the center cut on it?
Congratulations on the new ride.

Thanks everybody.  I really do love it.  I have noticed that I am hitting my hand with a fletchings every few shots or so.  Maybe that's why I am shooting so we'll with it already.  As far as center cut, not quite sure.  I know I don't care for bows with a narrower shelf for the reason that my arrow always blows off while hanging on my treestand hook.  This has a nice wide shelf.
