Lets see your white and gray glass bows!
« on: December 10, 2018, 08:05:30 PM »
I'm so tempted to call up Mr JD Berry and place an order, really wanting something with his light grey or white glass.  I would love to get a look at your bows with white and gray glass for ideas and inspiration.

I think the riser needs a reddish tint to look good with grey or white glass.  I’ve used Bubinga, cocobolo and Kingwood.  I like Bubinga the best, I think.  Sorry not pictures.   An all black riser would look good, too.

Where can I find out more about Sunset Hill bows?  Google doesn't return much.

Nate is a sponsor at another popular traditional society forum, and can pretty much only be reached by email or phone.  No web site.

He his owner of a glass shop and only builds on the side.  He can only turn out a literal handful of bows each year and has a sizeable wait list of current loyal customers (myself included). You need to be a serious ASL shooter and be willing to wait up to 2 years to get a new custom.

Otherwise try to hunt on the classifieds for a pre-owned one and be prepared for premium prices.  I know a member here that has collected 4 pre-owned so it can be done if you are willing to put in the effort.

To me, his stuff is worth the wait and aggravation and there are very few bowyers that can match his dedication to Hill / Schulz principles and have such an attention to detail and craftsmanship.

He can turn around custom leather back quivers and accessories much faster and they are also very finely crafted.

Never thought about a white bow until I saw the Hill Legend Stick.  I love this bow!  Both looks and performance!
