Archery Gift Ideas
« on: December 11, 2018, 11:18:17 AM »
So with Christmas almost here I wanted ask what Archery items everyone has asked for, and what archery gifts you are planning to give? I did a big post over on *********** about some gift ideas we offer, but I was curious what you folks get/give. Or, if you even ask for archery related gifts at Christmas.

I hope to use this for the future Christmas planning. See if we are missing the boat on anything or not.

Also, does anyone use a web site's "share wish list" feature? Or do you just email links of what you want? Looking to find new ways to make our web site better for the  gift shopper.

Thanks for any feedback you can give. Merry Christmas!

P.S. Not going to fill this with gift idea links, but I haven't really promoted the 4-pack Howard Hill DVD set a lot, and it is an awesome deal & great gift: https://www.3riversarchery.com/howard-hill-4-dvd-combo.html

I typically ask for broadheads and arrow shafts. Good time to pick up the tried and true, as well as, a few to tinker with. A book or two is always nice.

None of my family knows or cares anything about archery, and the wife has made it clear she is not interested in giving any of this stuff at Christmas. She feels I can do much better just shopping for what I need along through the year as the need arises. This does not necessarily apply to outdoor clothing, though. I really don't have any pressing needs this year.

I am chomping at the bit for my grandson to get a little older so he can handle more advanced outdoor gear, especially edged tools. In another year or so the gift list will lean toward this style gear. Christmas shopping will take on a new excitement then.

For me it's arrow shafts, feathers, inserts, broadheads... but I will be ordering my own. The wife wouldn't know where to start.

I've pretty well maxed out on my Christmas this year. Along with the above items, I'm sending in a $500 deposit on my February hog hunt, $50 annual Sportsmen Association fee, $175 on a new hunting lease, and $650 when I apply for my 2019 elk tag.

I love Christmas! :goldtooth:

I told my wife I was thinking about getting another custom bow made, its been a few years since I bought my black widow. So she told me that would be my christmas present and she said she would pay for it. So I have really been wanting a Big Jims bow ever since shooting one at ETAR last year and I picked out a Big Jims Desert Bighorn Recurve. What a great christmas present! Well technically it will be next years christmas present because it will be the end of next year before it is delivered, but thats okay I finally got on the list to own a Big Jims Bow!

I got a gift in the mail yesterday that wowed me, the 20TH ANNIVERSARY COMPTON TRADITIONAL BOWHUNTERS 2019 CALENDER. These would make great Christmas gifts but not sure how to get them.

I got some faux antler limb bolts for my dad this year. Looks good on his Drake Signature and I imagine on any rear mounted limb bows. I did buy these at 3riversof course.

Thanks everyone for replying. Anyone have any suggestions on how to make Archery gift giving easier on our loved ones? I had an idea of a tool, "answer these 10 questions and give/get the perfect gift." Have 10 easy questions that the archer fills out and can send to their loved ones. Like, Right or left handed, shirt size, brand preference, etc.

Do you think that would be helpful? I mean, can just email them your wish list from a web site. This would leave it open to them more. So knowing you wear a size large glove/tab, they could pick one out. Or on arrows, knowing your spine and arrow length they can get you some. Is that 'too personal' of a choice for some of you? Or would you be blown away getting arrows, even if they are not your usual brand?

Thanks again everyone!

Good suggestion on the HH dvd set. You sucked me in so I gave myself a Xmas present.

Perhaps it could be setup like autozone where each vehicle (bow) is kept on record and matching arrows/previously ordered would go along with the bow. And a wish list for each account.

Looking forward to my hog hunt with fnshtr in spring. It don't take much to make me happy at Christmas. Good health means the most, I get what I want all during the year. My prayers go out to all the children of the world for Christmas.
