Excellent …. Glenn was an important part of my archery journey. I spent many an hour in his shop and the museum over the years.

Hey Ol Timer,so good to see you still sticking Ned’s over there, hope your taking good care of my knife and keepin her razor sharp lol. When I lived in Vancouver BC a good friend and I would drive to Seattle about every 6 months or so to shop at Northwest Archery,we had many conversations with Glenn and he told us many story’s about the old days in Alaska with Fred Bear.I just loved his old shop,it was a total museum with all the old goodies from the past.Twenty-Five years later my wife and I attended the Pope andYoung banquet in Edmonton Alberta, I had then moved to Saskatchewan and hadn’t seen Glenn in many years. At the banquet we were at a hospitality when I turned around and there was Glenn with Jim Dougherty.I struck up.a Conversation with Glenn about the old days and he actually remembered me and my buddy.I told him that blue sweater he had on was probably older than most people here as it was the same one he was wearing twenty-five years ago,we had a good laugh.I thanked him for all inspiration he had given to two young fellas years ago.Glenn was one of the nicest and most knowledgeable men I ever met ,a true Icon .I will forever miss him.
Quote from Howard Hill.( Whenever he taught someone to shoot) "Son make up your mind right now if you want to target shoot or hunt as theres a world of differance between the two"

About ten years ago I took my 14 year old nephew to the Compton Rendezvous  and introduced him to Glenn. My nephew was holding a Bear bow so Glenn asked him about the bow. He told him that he brought it along in the hopes of selling it and told him how much he wanted to get out of it. Glenn offered him 5 bucks less and then every time we would see Glenn in passing (he was carrying the bow)the offer went down another 5 bucks.  :biglaugh: That guy was sharp right up to the end!

Good for you Felix.  That is a wonderful way to honor a man and a memory.  Congrats on the hog.  You have to come out and chase our mini hogs [javis] sometime.

I met Glenn years ago at a P&Y banquet. Nancy and I set with him and his wife Margaret at the banquet dinner. He had a great sense of humor that kept you laughing. This picture is from that time.

I saw Glenn many times after that.

He came to my shop once and I got him to sign my St Charles quivers that I hunted with for years.

Great pictures Ron.... Glenn was always very generous with his time. I used to kid him that he needed to stop signing things that he was ruining my Glenn St Charles collection.  :biglaugh:

Glenn with G Fred and I at the Compton Rendezvous.  Compton's was Glenn's brain child to form a traditional organization for game keeping records of game taken with traditional bows.

Thanks Ron to share some of yours memories with us. It is funny when I asked him to sign that riser he said: give me a 20 and as I took my billfold out he started to laugh and Jay said Dad always jokes when people ask for signing.

When I got him to sign his book for me, he ask what I wanted him to write, I told him just say "To my old Hunting Buddy Ron LaClair"  He just looked at me over the top of his glasses, and I laughed. It wasn't easy to get one over on him but I did that day :biglaugh:
