Arrow spine question and flight behavior?
« on: March 30, 2008, 01:20:00 AM »
I can get a good deal on some 2212’s, ($44) a dozen; I’m planning on using them for both 3-D and hunting.  I have been shooting Beman MFX classic 500 spine arrows and the 2212’s are .505 spine.  Will they behave about the same?  I also have some 2114 that I just picked up, they’re .510 spine.  Does small diameter carbon behave a lot different than aluminum in the same spine?

I would be shooting these out of my longbow and recurve.  It just seems like too good of a deal to pass up. They have a bunch of the shafts and I could probably buy 2-3 dozen without much problem…it would last me a while.  Might even be able to get a better deal with a larger purchase.

Also are the thinner walls going to be a problem with 150 grains out front?

Probably over thinking things but I figured I’d ask.

Thanks,

Josh

You will find they act differently. Will they shoot off your bow, yes without a doubt but carbon recovers much quicker and for me anyway tunes easier. Shawn
