2019 Shed antler thread
« on: December 23, 2018, 03:09:05 PM »
I know I’m a week early, but unfortunately I’ve got one to get this thread started. This guy has lost both sides already. He lost the other side about a week ago. Last pic is this year and last year. Gained some good mass, but not much else.

What were the dates you think he may have shed last year and how close did he shed geographically this year compared to last year?

Last year I only found one of his sheds. It was within a quarter mile of where this one was found. Last year he dropped one side the middle of January and carried the second side for three weeks before dropping it.

This year it was a little over a week between dropping the sides. The other side can’t be too far away. I have pics of him 5 hours apart with full rack and dropping the first side.

Me and a bud went for about a four hour hike today. One from each buck I was chasing. We each found one. They were about forty yds apart. Planning on scouring the area again Sunday.

The last pic had to be taken at the house because my phone died while out looking,,

Been putting in a lot of miles looking for the mates to the big sheds me and a bud found. So far, no luck. Have found a few small ones. Couple of which have been out there a year or two. This is #6 for the season.

Helped a bud find a matching pair from a buck on his place. Pretty good buck for a 3yr old.
