No Stic
the sander runs off a cordless drill, the sanding mandrel is a rubber bladder with air in it.
I forget what air pressure it uses, not much.

All I am saying is if you control the air pressure with a regulator you could inflate it out of an air compressor without danger of blowing it up.

I'm glad I don't make them high tech gwass bows.

For my wood bows, I just fold up a piece of sandpaper and work it up and down the limb by hand..

Ditto on the sandpaper. I do make low tech gwass(sic) Bows, but no fancy shapely handles that would benefit from a high speed contour sander.
I had to look at the specs on those pneumatic sanders, they take a max 8psi. Thats about 3 strokes with my bike pump.

You weren't kidding about the green! I like it, but my taste is strange.
Looks like you do some fancy quilting too, Stic

Got to cut up about 1/4 of my ERC supply with the bandsaw.  My shop smells amazing  :bigsmyl:
The exhaust from my dust collector spread this pink dust around my yard.

Damn Ben! Thats some really nice looking ERC. I had to dig thru a big pile of the stuff at the lumber yard to find one decent straight grained piece without knots. And the yard dude was giving me stink eye the whole time I was digging! I bet that dust will keep the bugs away.

Thanks Flem.  Yes this is some good ERC.  Fairly straight grain and not many knots, which is rare with ERC.
I posted this pic a couple months ago, but here's the log where the boards are from.  I did my best to follow the split grain, not something that the lumber yard cares about.  Should be some nice lams in there.  And I have a few staves too .

Decided I need some new hunting shafts today, so I unearthed my stash of Western Larch. This log was fire killed in 1988 and was laying on the ground till 2000 when I went and ripped it up and carried it out. This stuff is incredibly rot restisant. You can make some heavy, small diameter shafts with the stuff. Anything larger than 5/16" is usually too stiff for any Bow under 60#. I do prefer Cedar, but at $30. a dozen, I'll use the larch. Besides, it pretty wood!

I'm a little behind on my "summer bow" but got the ring chased and rough layout done. Time to start removing some material and make it bend.
