Looks nice Jeff.

Did you end up using super glue for grain filler?

Stic, how shall I put it. When you send the jig with handle along the profiling bearing, do you start in the middle and go out to the fadeout and then flip the handle over, so you do not grind against the fadeout? Hope this makes sense.

It was the lighter piece of wood that looked a bit like osage but was much softer, I think it might have been myrtle, just guessing.

I got on a flintlock site and made the same wood request and like Roy the guys really came through.

I donated a gizmo out of my last piece of good wood to an auction for the Alabama Children's Hospital a couple of weeks ago, it brought $40. With all this wood I can make more gizmos than ever before and donate them to St Jude, the Alabama Children's Hospital and Catch a Dream auctions as well.

I have plenty of wood!

Bue I use one end of the jig and flip it. That way both ends are the same and grinding center to fade.

That looks great Mike! Kind of retro cool, like a 50's Bear.
Whatever you are using for temp nocks, that's a brilliant idea, mind sharing?

Flem those are just some old school tillering blocks. Mostly used for finding dynamic center on curves. I use them on longbows to find the strong limb after it is blanked out

It does look pretty good in person  ;) Thank you! I'm pretty happy with it...got a string made today and gonna shoot her a little more tomorrow maybe with the chrono...

I did end up using the super glue for grain filling and wasn't expecting the toxic fumes!...that stuff had my eyes watering and nose running :big laugh:  Next time there will be better ventilation for sure!

Mike, you made those tillering blocks sound so common place. I was searching all over to find any info on them and the only hit I got was on a defunct Pirates of Archery thread from 2008. Fortunately there was a pic at the end. Did you make yours out of aluminum also?

I have these blocks also, made from steel. Like Stic says good for finding the strongest limb when bow blank is squared off exactly and before cutting any nocks. Other than that I do not use them any more.
Easy way to make them is epoxy together 3-4 large washers, cut a slot and drill a hole.
